Excursions - Naples 
Visit to the historic centre of Naples and tour of “Naples underground”.
Meeting with the guide in the hotel and departure for tour. Transfer in coach to Piazza del Gesù Nuovo from where the so-called “Decumano Inferiore” commences. Participants walk along the Via Benedetto Croce to the Church of St. Chiara. After visiting the church the tour continues in the direction of Piazza San Domenico Maggiore and on towards Piazzetta Nilo where “San Biagio ai librai” commences. Having strolled through this historic street visitors walk up Via San Gregorio Armeno, a street known for the incredibly elaborate Nativity scenes sculpted by hand, and on to reach the church of San Paolo Maggiore. Visit to “Naples Underground” and return to hotel.
Convent complex of St Chiara and the Chapel of St Severo. Meeting with guide in hotel and departure for tour. Transfer in coach to Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, and the Convent complex of St Chiara. Visit of the church and cloisters, one of the most important works of art commissioned by the Angioini monarchy. Built in the early 1300’s, in the 1700’s the interiors were renovated in Baroque style. The cloisters in majolica to be found in the adjoining convent were realised in the 1700’s following the design of Domenico Vaccaro with decorative work by Donato and Giuseppe Massa. After the visit, the tour continues to Piazza San Domenico Maggiore where one finds the church of the same name, in the convent where San Tommaso d’Aquino taught. Just a few steps away from San Domenico Maggiore one finds the Chapel of San Severo, founded in 1590, in which many masterpieces of 18th century sculpture are housed, among which the Veiled Christ by Sammartino. Return to hotel.
Museum of Capodimonte and panoramic tour of the city. Meeting with guide in hotel and transfer by coach to the Museum of Capodimonte, journeying along Piazza Municipio, Via Medina, Piazza Dante, travelling past the façade of the National Museum. Having passed the Majestic church of Madre del Buon Consiglio, in the vicinity of which one finds the famous Catacombs of St Gennaro, the tour arrives at the Capodimonte Museum, which is home to the prestigious Farnese collection inherited by the Bourbons. The museum also houses the Neapolitan gallery with works of art from the 1200’s and 1700’s, collections of porcelain, armoury and other objects. After the visit to the museum the tour continues across the Vomero quarter towards Posillipo from where it is possible to admire the most spectacular views over the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Time for photos and return to hotel.
