Capri in Miniature.

The Capri reproduced in minature form by the artist Sergio Rubino reveals all of the island's natural beauty whilst at the same time depicting the most salient moments of history, leading the visitor on a fascinating journey through the past.
This masterpiece of pottery and limestone, has been sculpted and modelled entirely by hand. The impressive dimensions of the work, 18 x 9m (46 x 23 ft), complete with dwarf vegetation, provide a unique opportunity to admire the island in all of its enchanting beauty.

The show includes representations of historical scenes of local life and folk traditions:

Villa Jovis: an imaginary reconstruction of Emperor Tiberius' favourite villa;
Castle of Barbarossa: where the people of Anacapri resisted Saracen incursions for 14 months;
17 october 1808: French troops climb up the high ridge on the west side of the island and capture Capri;
Marina Grande: in the background the little harbor and boats laden down with nets can be seen. The fishermen bustle around, preparing for another day at sea;
The Market: the houses are still sleeping but the shops are opening; in a short while, the women will emerge to make their purchases. One or two peddlers can be seen setting up their stalls.
The procession of Saint Antonio: Men dressed in white tunics follow the statue of the Saint. The crowds await the passing of the effigy, flowers in hand.
The locals: the inhabitants of the island, dressed in brightly colored costume, dance joyfully some playing traditional musical instruments.
The wine harvest: Women balance great baskets of grapes on their heads, whilst the men press the fruit with their feet.
The Olive harvest: All on their knees, the olive pickers are eager to transport the entire harvest to the oil press.
The wine cellar: the cellar is filled with huge barrels, vats and the over-powering smell of wine, whilst the walls are lined with all the equipment necessary for the harvest.
The Blue Grotto: outside the cave boats wait with their oars raised, inside, a visitor admires the marvellous colour of the grotto whilst listening to the boatman's tales.
